TestingBot has been providing access to remote physical iOS and Android devices for over 2 years. In the process, we've optimised the process of broadcasting the screen of the physical iPhones, iPads and Android devices.

With the most recent update, TestingBot now supports streaming audio generated by the device to the user, while performing a manual test.

For a select number of iOS and Android devices, you will now hear audio playing while performing a manual test. Older devices are limited to streaming the contents of the screen. These devices are currently providing audio streaming:

  • iPhone 12 and higher
  • Samsung Galaxy S23 and higher
  • Google Pixel 6 and higher

Audio testing on mobile

While performing manual tests on a remote device, you might be interested in receiving the audio stream generated from the device.

For example, let's say you are testing a game on iPhone and you want to make sure the audio performs well. You can verify if any audio is being generated and verify the audio is the correct audio at the correct time.

With the recent announcement from Apple, stating the iPhone 15 Pro is the next AAA game console, it is more important than ever to test mobile games on iPhones and iPad devices.

Similarly on Android, you'll be able to test video players, mobile games and other multimedia-based apps with the help of TestingBot's manual app testing.
